- Because Charlotte feels passionately about her friends, she sometimes takes the disappointment or frustration that comes along with friendships very hard. If a friend doesn't listen to her or she can't seem to communicate what she's thinking, a play date can turn into an emotional rollercoaster. As her mom, I'm right beside her, riding these hair-raising dips and turns. But I also know that it's my role to stop the "rollercoaster," soothe the crying friend, and remind their eyebrow-raising parent that it could just as easily be their child next time. —Vivien Mazlen Levy
