        Rolling Road Trip!

Vacations are exciting, and traveling to your destination can be a lot of fun, too! Make the most of a long car ride or line at the airport by talking to your child about the details of your trip. Explain how long your trip will take and talk excitedly about the sights you'll see along the way, the activities you'll do in the car or plane, and all the fun you'll have when you get there!

        Step 1: Things You'll Need

Collect the items from the materials list.
Little Hands Tip: Mark your trip route on a map together .

        Step 2: Print It

Print out the Get Rolling Travel Dice Sheet.

        Step 3: Color It

Encourage your child to color in all of the pictures. You might try using different colors for each side!

        Step 4: Glue It

When you've finished coloring the pictures, glue one of the sheets to an old cereal box or a piece of heavy construction paper. Make sure the sheet is glued as flat and securely as possible.

        Step 5: Cut It Out

After the glue has dried, carefully cut out the pattern along the gray lines.

        Step 6: Make a Cube

Fold the cutout along the black lines to form a cube.

        Step 7: Count Sides

Glue or tape the tabs to hold the cube together. Repeat this process for all three dice. As you make the cubes, count how many sides each one has. All cubes have six sides! Once the glue is dry, give the game a try!

        Game On!

Pick the player who will go first. To play, roll one of the "things" die, then roll the "numbers" die. Try to name as many of those things as the number you rolled. For example, if you roll "Feelings" and a number "5," you have to name five feelings. Try not to repeat things you've already said. Take turns playing this exciting and portable new game!
