You Were My Size Once?
Break out the photo albums! Spend time with your child looking through old photos of you when you were a child. Tell funny stories, share special moments, and family traditions from your childhood. Then, look through an album of pictures of your child. Talk about how your childhoods are similar and different.
Find a photo of you when you were a child and a photo of your child. No photos? No sweat! You can draw pictures of yourselves instead.
Step 1: Things You'll Need
Collect the items from the materials list.
Little Hands Tip: Tell a story about what you or your child were doing right before or right after the photo was taken.
Step 2: Place the Photos
Dab the back of each photo with some glue and attach them to a single piece of cardboard or construction paper. (The cardboard from an old cereal box works best.) Attach the photos side by side, leaving about an inch of cardboard between them.
Step 3: Cut Out the Pictures
Once the glue has dried a bit, carefully cut out around both photos, leaving a border about an inch wide. This will give your child room to decorate around the photos.
Step 4: Fold to Make a Frame
Fold the cardboard in half between the photos, creating a standing frame for the photographs.
Step 5: Jazz It Up
Time to get crafty! Decorate popsicle sticks using crayons or markers. These will be used to make the border for the frame. You can also cut strips of fabric or colorful construction paper to use instead.
Step 6: Glue the Frame
Carefully glue the popsicle sticks around the photos to create a decorative border.
Step 7: Glitter Is Grand
Once the glue has dried on the border, add a little pizzazz to the frame with some glitter!
Show Off Your Smiles
