Recycling is an exciting way to use old things in a new way. It also helps the environment by adding less garbage to our landfills. Try recycling an old glove with your child and invite some Sesame Street friends into your home!

        Step 1: Things You'll Need

Collect the items from the materials list.
Little Hands Tip: Make up a story about where the glove has gone and what it has done.

        Step 3: Print the Faces

Print out the Sesame Street Friends' Faces Sheet.

        Step 3: Color Your Character

Break out your crayons or markers and color your favorite character from Sesame Street. One glove makes five puppets!

With a glue stick, attach the colored sheet to an old cereal box.

        Step 4: Cut the Glove

Carefully cut each glove finger at its base.

Step 5: Make a Hem with Glue

Turn each glove inside out and apply a "ring" of craft glue about ⅛ of an inch above the cut. Then fold up the base to form a hem. Set aside to dry.

Step 6: Put on a Happy Face

Carefully cut out each character face and attach to the tip of the glove with more craft glue.
Little Hands Tip: Tell a story about each character as you finish the puppet.

        Curtain Up!

Now it's time for the show! Try acting out your child's favorite episode, or encourage him to make up his own story. Sing a favorite song, or talk like Cookie Monster!
