Call of the Wild!
Ask your child what her favorite animal is. What sounds does that animal make? How does it move? Where does that animal live? Does it live close by or far away? How big is that animal?
Step 1: Things You'll Need
Collect the items from the materials list.
Little Hands Tips: Ask your child to choose craft materials that remind her of her favorite animal.
Step 2: Fold It
Fold the lip of the paper bag outwards about ½ inch two times. This will keep the bag from tearing.
Step 3: Speckles, Spots, and Stripes, Oh My!
Decorate the brown paper bag with craft supplies.
Step 4: Print It Out
Print out the Animal Coloring Sheet.
Little Hands Tips: If you don't have a printer, grab some old magazines and help your child cut out animal photos for game pieces.
Step 5: Cut It Out
Cut out each animal square.
Step 6: Color Those Animals
Give your child the animal cut-outs to color. When you're finished, put the animals in the decorated paper bag.
Step 7: Game Time!
Now it's time to pretend! Have your child reach into the bag to choose one animal without showing you what it is. Instruct her to pretend to be that animal using sounds and movements—without saying the animal's name.
Step 8: Guess What?
Guess what animal she is pretending to be.
Step 9: Making Memories
Take turns being the actor and the guesser until all of the animals have been guessed!
Little Hands Tips: For lasting memories, make family game night a weekly event!
