Big Bird is roller skating, when…crash! He's injured his wing. Chris takes Big Bird to Dr. Berger, who carefully examines his wing and explains to Big Bird that while his wing isn't broken, it is sprained. Dr. Berger gently puts a sling on Big Bird's arm and explains he has to rest for a few days.
When Chris and Big Bird return, Big Bird's bummed out because there's nothing for him to do. He can't join Elmo and Zoe as they play with a beach ball, so they sing about the things Big Bird can do with an injured wing: sing songs, draw pictures, and drink birdseed milkshakes. And… spend time with good friends!
Watching this episode together is a great opportunity to discuss things your child can do when he is stuck in one place, hurt, or not feeling well.
