Word on the street: Inspect
To look at something closely and carefully.
Leela, Telly and Elmo are folding clothes in the laundromat when Inspector 4, Judah Friedlander, comes along inspecting for things in groups of four. Elmo suggests counting the bottles of fabric softener: 1, 2, 3, 4. Phew—the laundromat passes the number 4 inspection.
Then the inspector visits Mr. Hooper's store. Oh no! There are ten peanut butter sandwiches. Telly eats six so that only four sandwiches remain. Bingo! Hooper's store passes the number 4 inspection.
Last, Inspector 4 sees the letter "R" standing next to a rake. The Inspector 4 threatens to shut down the letter "R" because he only has one thing that begins with the letter "R"—a rake. Elmo and Telly find a rose, a rock, and a rodent and add them together, and Inspector 4's mission is completed.
With this episode, building number sense in your child is easy as 1, 2, 3, 4!
