Episode Summary

Ants never sleep! Ladybugs smell with their feet! These are just some of the fascinating facts that Elmo and Telly are learning. When a Monarch butterfly flutters in, they worry he'll be lonely without his friends, so Elmo pretends he's a butterfly. But the butterfly isn't fooled.

Telly checks his book and learns about metamorphosis: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly. Then Elmo pretends to go through the four stages, so the butterfly will be his friend. It works!

The butterfly flies onto Elmo's shoulder and off the pals go to Hooper's for a snack of sliced oranges. But suddenly, there are lots more Monarch butterflies. Telly checks the book and explains that Monarch butterflies migrate when the seasons change. Good thing Elmo's drawn a picture to remember his friend by.
