SESAME STREET

Sesame Street continues to focus on the development of the whole child, teaching children basic literacy and numeracy skills, fostering reasoning and problem skills, promoting heath and nutrition, and building children's social and emotional growth. This season, Sesame Street places a particular emphasis on nature education, through the lens of scientific exploration. Children are encouraged to explore the natural world as their innate sense of awe, wonder, and curiosity about nature is supported.

Encourage your child to become their own nature detective after watching episodes of Sesame Street. Explain that a nature detective is someone who looks closely for things in nature and tries to find out information about them. Help your child look for things found in nature that have been discovered by the characters on the show, such as a bird's nest, a bumble bee, animal tracks, and a vegetable garden. Help him keep a journal to draw pictures of all the things he discovers in nature with help from his friends on Sesame Street!
