About the Character
Willy was Sesame Street’s local hot dog vendor, often appearing in the background of scenes along with his rolling hot dog cart. He had a long white beard and wore a straw hat sporting a yellow feather, and he dotted the Sesame Street landscape from the 1970s until the early 1990s.
